The Country Inn For Cats opened in 2005 to provide cat owners living in Grays Harbor, Thurston, Mason, Olympia, and Pacific Counties with a peaceful, quiet, and home-like environment to board their cats. Our facility is the the only “cats only” boarding center within a 50-mile radius of Montesano, WA. We provide award-winning services and have been voted “Best Pet Boarding” by The Daily World every year since the award began in 2012. Our center is locally owned and operated, with our owners living on premise to ensure your cat receives consistent and constant care.

Treating Your Cat With Kindness & Love

Our “cat house” can accommodate up to 32 guests and sits 150 feet from the main house. While working at local veterinary clinics our owner, Sue Leslie, realized there was a need for a quiet and cozy boarding environment exclusively for cats. Our feline friends do not do well with the stress of noisy environments, barking dogs, and commotion often present in traditional boarding facilities.

Our facility is designed for total cat care. Some amenities include:

Soft music is played during rest periods
“Cat Sitter” DVDs are played on the TV for stimulation and entertainment.
Multiple climbing cat trees
Vertical and horizontal scratching posts
A separate play room for frisky kitties
Deep window sills for countryside viewing
Hummingbird and bird seed feeders — all in a homelike setting.
Play tunnels with catnip for extra fun, and for our entertainment!

Each cat in our care has their individual information printed on a cage card which is attached to the front of their condo. This information includes their specific feeding instructions, medical information (if applicable), and their personality traits. We keep track of their daily intake of food, water and/or medications, and output of urine and stool.

Experienced, Total Cat Care

Sue has three years of veterinary experience and is trained to give oral medications, sub-q fluids and insulin injections for diabetic cats. We ask owners to bring their cat’s own food to keep their diet consistent. We cater to each cat’s individual diet needs, if frequent feedings are necessary. In addition, to ensure your cat gets their daily exercise and stimulation, we have each cat take turns outside of their condo either individually or with other cats under supervision. We treat every cat as if they were at home, and truly care for their needs and wellbeing.

We require each cat to be current on their vaccines and flea prevention medication. We use the same sanitizing products used at veterinary clinics to ensure our facility is safe and clean.
